New Hotaka Ropeway (新穂高ロープウェイ)

The ropeway takes you to Nabedaira Kogen, the starting point for hiking trails and home to a visitor center, restaurants, and a public bath. The second leg to the upper station is made in massive double-decker cable cars.

Omihachiman (近江八幡)

Sitting on the shores of Lake Biwa and the Nakasendo road between Tokyo and Kyoto, Omihachiman was a thriving merchant town for centuries. The impressive Hachiman-bori Canal, which aided transportation and trade, adds to the city's historical significance. Later, 'Hachiman' was added to the town's name in honor of the Shinto god of war, who resides at the Himure Hachimangu Shrine.


La Collina Omihachiman (ラ・コリーナ近江八幡)

Designed by Terunobu Fujimori, La Collina Omihachiman, established in 2015, serves as a flagship facility of the Taneya Group, renowned for traditional Japanese sweets.
