<Travel Suggestions>

Introduction★★★

The highlights of this tour include the Hitachi Seaside Park, dyed entirely blue with nemophila flowers, and the famous Ashikaga Flower Park known for its 150-year-old wisteria. Additionally, even in the hot spring-rich country of Japan, we will extend our journey to Kusatsu Onsen, a heavyweight in the Kanto region.

There are also attractions in the surrounding areas, such as one of Japan's three great gardens, Mito Kairakuen, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tomioka Silk Mill, and the Edo-period ambiance that still lingers in Koedo Kawagoe. Of course, we will also cover the highlights of Tokyo. Since you are visiting Ashikaga Flower Park, don't miss the Kurita Museum, known as having the world's best collection of Imari, Kakiemon, and Nabeshima ceramics.

The best time to see the nemophila and wisteria is around mid to late April, although the peak may vary slightly each year.

Kusatsu Onsen 草津温泉

Kusatsu Onsen (Gunma Prefecture), is one of the best hot springs in Japan along with Arima Onsen 有馬温泉(Hyogo Prefecture) and Gero Onsen 下呂温泉(Gifu Prefecture).

Renowned for its high temperatures (approximately 55 degrees Celsius) and acidity, the therapeutic qualities of the water are believed to remedy various conditions, particularly benefiting the skin. The natural spring water output boasts the highest volume in Japan, with over 32,300 liters per minute. Approximately 230,000 drums' worth of hot spring water gushes out each day.

Adjacent to the Yubatake, a leisurely stroll takes you to Netsunoyu Hall to witness the captivating ‘yumomi’ performance. Onsen workers skillfully cool the water by dipping and turning wooden planks, choreographing their movements to the rhythm of a traditional folk song.

Venture into the narrow alley near Netsunoyu to explore charming arts and crafts shops featuring creations inspired by the milky waters. Don't miss the opportunity to savor ‘onsen manju (steamed sweet buns)’ and ‘onsen tamago (eggs boiled in the hot springs).’ Follow the alley to its end, where Sainokawara Park awaits, an area blessed with naturally gushing, steamy hot spring water.
